"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world." Participating in community service is a vital part of many Lake Forest College students' experience. The campus has national chapters for Circle K, Alpha Phi Omega, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Best Buddies. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to tutor kids at local elementary and middle schools through the Measure of Our Success program. Weekly, students staff an area soup kitchen and our fraternities and sororities perform many philanthropic events throughout the year. If you are interested in community service, Lake Forest College provides many opportunities to get involved. Serving in the community not only helps others, but gives you the opportunity to learn and to grow. Connect with local agencies that are looking for student assistance in a variety of settings. Ideal for your student organization service needs. More information at the Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth (x5210) or check out the Volunteer Opportunities bulletin board in Commons. |
